Whole School Events

Senior Ball
The senior ball typically runs on the first Saturday of Term 3 (TBC) at a local venue chosen by the Ball Committee. E.g. Palm Beach Resort, Wild on Waiheke. The Ball Committee is a group of Year 13 volunteers who plan and organise the entire event throughout the year. Students may only attend the ball if they meet the 90% attendance criteria and have no current behavioural contracts.
Tickets are open to Year 13 first, followed by Year 12 and then Year 11. Students can take partners who do not attend Waiheke High School, but these must be vetted first.
Junior Proms
Intermediate (Years 7 and 8) and Junior (Years 9 and 10) Proms are held in the Waiheke High School hall towards the end of Term 4. A Prom Committee organises the decorations and music for each event.
The Intermediate Prom includes Prom dancing, practised during the weeks leading up to the Prom. Students may only attend their Prom if they meet the 90% attendance criteria and have no current behavioural contracts.
Motu Events
There are at least two motu events organised per term. All staff are expected to be involved in promoting participation and motu spirit. Several events require staff to take on supervisory or leadership roles. The following events are long-standing Waiheke High School events and are organised by staff
Other events are organised by the Prefect team and vary each year. Events may include sports tournaments, quizzes and arts competitions.
