Welcome to the Digital Age!
At Waiheke High School, we’re embracing the power of technology to create an engaging and dynamic learning environment. We’re a BYOD school, which means students in Years 7-13 bring their own devices to unlock a world of learning opportunities.
Why BYOD?
In today’s world, digital skills are essential. BYOD empowers our students to:
- Collaborate creatively: Work together on projects, share ideas, and learn from each other.
- Develop essential skills: Master the tools and technologies needed for success in the 21st century.
- Learn at their own pace: Access resources, complete assignments, and explore their interests anytime, anywhere.
Device Recommendations
- Junior School: Chromebooks are a fantastic starting point! They’re durable, affordable, and have long battery life.
- Senior School: A laptop or tablet PC offers greater flexibility for advanced projects and creative work.
Key Features:
- Must-have: A physical keyboard (no on-screen keyboards, please).
- Recommended: Cameras (front and rear-facing) for capturing learning moments and creating digital portfolios.
