All students are encouraged to participate in a range of extracurricular activities. Participation is required for the Graduate Profile and is included in the student reports sent home.

We also have a number of leadership opportunities available. These students meet at various times throughout the school term.
Peer Sexuality Support Programme (PSSP)
PSSP is a group of senior students who offer students support to make informed decisions about their sexual health. The PSSP team undergo a selection process and receives training and support from the Auckland Sexuality Health Service which includes a national hui.
The Peer Mediation team
The Peer Mediators are group of senior students selected through teacher feedback. They receive training from the Peace Foundation to facilitate mediation and support their peers in resolving their own problems.

Students Against Dangerous Driving (SADD)/Kaitiaki o Ara
The SADD group is a small group of students that work collectively with the delivery team to provide road safety education to their peers and wider community to promote safe road user behaviours positively. Involvement is the SADD group is optional and open to all ages. More information about SADD can be found here: Students Against Dangerous Driving.
Junior Prefects
A group of Year 10 students are selected in Term 3 to work alongside the senior prefects and then take over the Prefect leadership once the seniors leave. The junior prefects aim to run at least one whole school event and continue to assist with the delivery of motu assemblies.
Sports Committee
A goal for 2025 is to develop the sports committee with student leaders from Year 7 – 13. This involves helping to run events, making decisions around sporting clubs and assisting with sports equipment distribution at interval and lunch times.
Sustainability Group
The student-driven group meets weekly to improve sustainability within our school. Initiatives include composting, planting, clothes swaps, sustainable soup, marine education and waste management. The group have recently won a Silver Enviroschools Aotearoa NZ award in 2024.
