Our Principal

Our Tumuaki / Principal

Tēnā koutou katoa,

Ko Cameron Flude tōku ingoa, te tumuaki hou o te kura tuarua o Waiheke.

My name is Cameron Flude and I am thrilled to have been appointed to the position of Principal at Waiheke High School.

I am joining the school having been a Deputy Principal at Ōkaihau College in the Bay of Islands for the past 4 years. Prior to that I was an Assistant Principal at Mt Aspiring College in Wānaka. Throughout my career I have always put improving student outcomes at the forefront of all decisions and will continue this ethos as I transition into Waiheke High School.

I am a Westie born and bred, having grown up in Waitākere and having lived there most of my life. Along with my wife, Natasha, and two kids (Enzo and Maia), we are excited to move to one of the most beautiful parts of the country to embrace this new opportunity. We intend to move to the motu in January and hope to put down more permanent roots once we have had time to settle in.

I was particularly attracted to Waiheke High School due to the vibrant community and the warmth that I felt from the moment I entered the school for a visit. Not only is Waiheke a beautiful and safe place to raise our family, the education standing on the island is strong and the community of learning is building positive practice among the primary schools and high school alike. Waiheke High School is primed to continue its ongoing success and I am honoured to have been asked to continue to build upon the great mahi already taking place at the school.

I look forward to meeting many people of the Waiheke community in this role over the next few years.

Ngā mihi mahana,

Cameron Flude
