At Waiheke High School, our values are more than words – they shape who we are as a community. This is why we have WISE of the Week, an initiative designed to recognise and celebrate students who consistently demonstrate our WISE values.
WISE of the Week shines a spotlight on students who make a difference and embody our school values of Whanaungatanga, Independence, School Culture, and Excellence – actions that strengthen our community and inspire others.
By celebrating these everyday successes, we continue to grow a school culture where every student is encouraged to thrive, contribute, and take pride in who they are.
Hazel Shevlin, Year 10
Chosen by the English faculty, our WISE of the Week recipient for this week is Hazel Shevlin, Year 10.
Hazel shows excellence in English with thoughtful and creative consideration to analysis over a range of texts. She regularly shows independence in class korero, confidently sharing insights and unique perspectives with the group. She is caring and encouraging with peers when they are struggling with mahi and is a vibrant member of our English class.
